Interior Designer

Eleven Interiors is a small, fast paced residential interior design firm in the South End of Boston.  Our firm is looking for an energetic and creative team player to join our group, with at least 8 years post graduate experience as a residential interior designer/project manager.  The Interior Designer position would be responsible for managing projects and overseeing two interior designers. The Interior Designer position entails:
  • Manage multiple residential projects of various sizes with multiple deadlines, from conception to completion
  • Supervise two interior designers and their projects, checking in with them daily to review project status
  • Develop and coordinate detailed design concepts and provide programming and space planning analysis
  • Perform field measurements and verification
  • Demonstrate understanding of the architectural design process and integration of interior design concepts
  • Communicate the intent of a design graphically and verbally, prepare design presentation packages using Powerpoint
  • Develop space plans/schematic designs using Revit and SketchUp
  • Prepare design plan, elevations and details, reflected ceiling plans, millwork design, furniture layouts, finish plans, color plans and schedules
  • Create construction documents and specifications including plans, elevations, sections and details that can be used for ordering and communicating with contractors, workrooms, and vendors
  • Possess technical proficiency in building construction, techniques and materials
  • Research manufacturers for furniture system and finish materials, providing budget cost for selections
  • Must be able to navigate a construction site and work directly with contractors/clients
  • Meet independently with contractors and vendors, schedule and attend site visits to discuss pricing, selections, drawings, and review progress
  • Strong written, verbal, and visual communication skills with clients, vendors and sub-contractors
  • Perform project administration: Create Proposals, Purchase Orders and Invoices using Design Manager
  • Create and update project schedules and budgets
  • Specify and order materials and furnishings
  • Coordinate and oversee installations and deliveries
  • Proficiency with Revit, Sketch Up, and Mircosoft Office preferred. 
  • Proficiency in Design Manager (project management software) preferred.

  • Demonstrate general knowledge of building materials, detailing, and construction techniques
  • NCIDQ Registered is a plus


Internship -  Spring 2018

Interior Design Intern to support our interior design team and office.  In this position, the Interior Design Intern will be responsible for, but not limited to: 

  • Assisting in creating client presentations
  • Sourcing finish materials, furnishings, lighting, fabrics, etc.
  • Contracting vendors to obtain pricing and availability on products
  • Ordering fabric and finish samples 
  • Researching products and entering information in our resource library 
  • General office duties as needed, i.e. answering phones, office and library organization, etc.

To be considered for the position, candidates must have the following qualifications: 

  • Enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Interior Design from an accredited school
  • Experience in Revit and SketchUp preferred
