Modern Wellfleet Cottage - Project Series

Wellfleet Project Video #3

Sarah Galvin, the designer and project manager on our Wellfleet project, and Chris Brown of b Architecture Studio, the project architect, share some insight into what it took to create all this luxury and convenience in 900sqft. From the framing details around the windows to a custom, built-in cubby for the dog’s bowls to “sneaky storage” solutions, the team collaborated on every detail at the highest level to ensure that the homeowner could have everything on their wish list.

In this 3rd installment documenting construction details of this dreamy Cape Cod cottage, we look inside and finally see some of the finishes.... vaulted ceilings clad in shiplap, skylights, exposed trusses, zellige tile, custom millwork... and can begin to appreciate just how much it takes to bring a project this luxurious to completion. There’s no question that this cottage is small, but that doesn’t mean the project itself is small, by any means.

As you can see from the imagery, we’re nearing the end of this wonderful journey and soul-filling creative challenge, but we won’t leave you wondering what the heck the place finally looks like once we finish it!  We’ll follow up one more time to really hone in on the details of this most magnificent and luxurious tiny home.

Wellfleet Project Video #2

While progress continues at our Wellfleet project, we checked in with Eleven Interiors designer, Sarah Galvin, and architect, Chris Brown, for their insight into what it takes to get a project with this much detail – however small – off the ground, under construction and ultimately become a livable space for our clients.

This home will be our client’s dream getaway on Cape Cod.  It has been in the making – in their minds – for many years prior to ever purchasing the actual property or assembling the team who they would entrust with making their dream a reality.  This highly detailed, no-expense-spared cottage will set the stage for lasting memories for generations to come.

As one of three major players, the responsibility to fulfill that dream, the commitment to accomplishing this goal for our clients, is not something we take lightly.  Our goal is simple: bring our client’s dream to reality by providing a carefully and thoughtfully coordinated process that allows for collaboration from beginning to end. Nothing less than our all, every day and in every aspect of the process, will do.

Many beautiful and unique design details will be showcased in future progress videos, so continue to follow along for the big reveal later this spring!

Wellfleet Project Video #1

For about a year now, the design team has been collaborating with b Architecture, Cape Associates and a most enjoyable client to design and build their dream home in a picturesque corner of Cape Cod.

Clients discover Eleven Interiors in myriad ways….directly through our social media platforms or our website, a referral from a former client, and still others find their way to us through industry collaborators…. every situation is different. This project came to us by way of referral from our collaborators at b Architecture.

In our experience, a project outcome is directly related to the synergy of the project team.  When the team is assembled from the very beginning of the project and the work scope is defined so that everyone is making a meaningful contribution, then there are no limits to what that team can accomplish.  Our Wellfleet project is the epitome of such a collaboration.

In this video you can see that the rough plumbing and framing is complete. The windows have also been installed.  In the coming weeks we’ll see progress in the form of rough electrical, board and plaster, and wood flooring, among other design delights….make sure to follow along as we work to complete this magnificent cottage!
