Employee Spotlight - Christina Close, Business Manager

Having grown up with a family in the construction industry, Christina has always had a yearning to be involved in home design. At a young age, Christina remembers jumping in her dad’s pick-up truck and visiting construction sites. Throughout high school and college Christina worked in her dad’s office as an Administrator. After graduating from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and then holding a job in marketing, the fascination with working in the interior design industry surfaced. Christina went on to work for a prominent Boston based interior design firm as a Project Coordinator and then Business Operations Manager before joining Eleven Interiors in 2013. With over 18 years in the design industry, Christina is responsible for a multitude of tasks and wears many hats to ensure Eleven Interiors is running smoothly. When she is not working, Christina loves being outdoors, gardening, spending time with her husband, two children, family and friends.

As part of our Spotlight Series, we've asked each of our team members to answer questions so you can learn a bit more about them. Read below to learn more about Christina:

Where do you hail from?

I grew up in Acton, Masschusetts, a suburban town north west of Boston.  I have great memories growing up in a fun neighborhood. Having lived in a variety of Massachusetts towns after graduating college, I now call Westwood my home, where my husband and I moved to in 2013 to start a family.

Favorite design element?

I love wallpaper!  There are so many beautiful patterns and textures that can add interest to a space. While painting is always a great way to change the look and feel of a room, I feel wallpaper takes it to the next level, it's like a form of art for your walls.

One travel destination you have not been to that you feel would provide great inspiration.

Well my list is pretty long but I have been wanting to travel to the Azores.  The landscape looks so beautiful and picturesque, I would love to explore the island and learn more about the culture.  Mother nature always inspires me and getting outside to experience her beauty is a must!

Dogs or cats?

100% dogs!  No offense to the cats out there.  I have a very special place in my heart for chocolate labs.

Plants or no plants?

Plants!  I would like to say I have a green thumb but I do my research and usually buy plants that are easy to care for.  I have a variety of plants throughout my house.  I also enjoy gardening in my yard and each spring I try to incorporate vegetables in the mix. My two children also enjoy participating in the efforts, learning and watching how things grow.
